1. I decided to post my 25 things when I saw Kirbee did. But then I read them over and decided my life is 100% different from what it was a year ago.
2. I live in Calgary now. I grew up in BC and lived there for 18 years and 11 glorious months, and decided to move away. I do love BC > Alberta, and I miss it like crazy, but I don’t regret moving here for a second.
3. I live with one of my best friends. We have a basement suite where we have a itty bitty kitty. Named Pantoufle (Pont-oof). It means slipper in french. She’s adorable, but I’m convinced she’s a reincarnated raptor.
4. I’m going home in 5 days to attend a wedding. I could not be more excited. I bought a beauttttiful purple dress to wear.
5. I’m taking Hospitality Management at SAIT. It’s actually a lot of fun. I’m meeting a ton of new people, who are for the most part pretty sweet. We start “practical learning” next week, where we serve in a live dining room. I’m kinda stoked.
6. I’ve been having problems withe headaches for about a week and a half. At first I thought I might be getting swine flu, but it’s just been constant migraines. They gave me medication, but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. Eff you head!
7. I have had 4 jobs in my lifetime. One is a mystery I still won’t tell the general public about. The others were Chuck E Cheese’s, Costco and Gone Gaming.
8. As much as I hated working there, I miss CEC sometimes. (Kirbee, feel free to laugh). I was good at my job and I enjoyed being in power and making people do whatever I wanted them to do. Even though I probably shouldn’t be used, I take great pride when former hostesses ask to use me as a reference on their resumes.
9. I love technology. Especially Apple. Whenever they have a conference, I spend the entirety of that day on their website ogling over their new products.
10. I am both very bitter and very optimistic about love. I think my past relationship and life experiences has now made me very cynical about things that make you happy.
11. I can’t casually watch a tv show. I have to watch the entirety of a series in order to be able to casually just catch an episode on tv. Unless its like Saved by the Bell or other childhood classics. But anything new, can’t do it. I’ll watch the entire series online before I can watch it on tv.
12. I can watch a riddikulus amount of television online in a short amount of time. I watched 4 full seasons, plus all the new episodes of How I Met Your Mother in less than two weeks. That is a funny show. I watched all the episodes of FlashForward yesterday. Also, very good show.
13. I’m a huge J.J. Abrams fan. It started with Lost, then Cloverfield, Star Trek and now FlashForward. He is set to produce Mission Impossible 4 and a sequel to Star Trek has been announced. Can’t wait for more lens flares!
14. I am teaching myself to play the piano whilst here in Calgary. By “teaching myself to play the piano” I mean I print songs and play them one by one. So far, I’ve only mastered one, but its memorized now, so I consider that quite the accomplishment. Samson - Regina Spektor. Before moving here, I’d never touched a piano. Apparently I’m “really good” because I could read treble clef and sight read before I started. Thank you band!
15. I never understood that being in band was nerdy until after I graduated. At LCS, band is the jock thing to do.
16. I went to Langley Christian K-12. I didn’t like it at the time, but now I miss going to school everyday where you know everyone and everyone knows you.
17. I am currently listening to HSM. I really love musicals, and am a sucker for Disney ones. I love Glee. My all time favorite musical though would have to be Muppet Treasure Island. It’s full of excellent music and childhood memories
18. I love love love love Harry Potter. And that’s an understatement. I wish I could express in words how much I love it, but that’s the impossible. As said in #12, I now spell it riddikulus. I don’t know how to spell it the normal way anymore. Irony took ahold of my life when it was one of the questions in Cranium for me to spell it the normal way. Needless to say, I let the team down.
19. Ironic timing seems to rule my life lately.
20. My house is decorated with random shit that holds sentimental value. I don’t have nice things to decorate my walls. Poreclin figures from Veronica, CEC prizes (DOLPHIN ATTACK), various cards and Cressida artifacts are just a few examples.
21. My room is also filled with Canucks memorabilia. I have to represent my city while I’m out here. I’ve worn my jersey down the streets of Calgary and literally been jeered at from passing cars. At least I’m not an Oilers fan.
22. I have a tendency to quote Arrested Development wayyyyyy too much, and then I make clever references that no one gets and I look crazy. The only person who understands them all is probably Andrew, whose in Scotland so bottom line: Dana is crazy.
23. I miss everyone at home. A lot. Can’t wait to be home at Christmas for 3 weeks!
24. As a child, I played baseball. Other sport endeavors include curling lessons and fencing lessons. Don’t get in a sword fight with me. You’ll lose.
25. I went trick or treating for Halloween and I have a lot of candy. I mean a lot. The only downside is that when you live with one other person, all the candy you dislike can’t be given away if they don’t like it too. If you come visit now, I will give you a lifetime supply of Coffee Crisps.
